Base pay range
$180,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr About the Role Join a cutting-edge stealth mode technology company focused on state-of-the-art NLP/NLG technologies. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be a key technical partner to our sales team, translating complex customer requirements into tailored solutions and driving the pre-sales process. This role involves deep collaboration with potential clients—predominantly within Department of Defense (DoD) agencies—and requires on-site presence for direct engagements. Your Mission Serve as the technical expert aligning our solutions with DoD mission-critical and secure systems Lead in crafting and delivering live demos, proof-of-concepts, and technical responses during complex federal sales cycles Work side-by-side with sales leadership to strategize on capturing new business opportunities Continuously develop expertise in NLP/NLG applications and the competitive landscape in defense tech Provide critical customer feedback to product and engineering teams to shape roadmap priorities Contribute to proposal development and government procurement initiatives What You Bring 5+ years in technical pre-sales or customer-facing engineering roles, ideally within the federal or defense sector Proven ability to clearly communicate technical value propositions to executive stakeholders Strong experience with Python, Linux environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Familiarity with distributed systems, ETL workflows, and secure communications architectures Willingness to travel regularly to client and federal sites in the DC area Preferred Extras Hands-on containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and machine learning familiarity Practical experience with NLP and full-stack development skills Knowledge of public sector procurement processes Compensation Competitive base salary in the range of $180,000 - $220,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience.
