Consulting Associate, Engineering

to join our

Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation team

in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will support ERM clients with

decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition (DDD)

of industrial assets. You will collaborate with project managers, demolition managers, and safety personnel to develop project plans and oversee contractors for safe fieldwork implementation. You will be present during all site activities and responsible for health and safety activities. Planning and assisting with DDD projects, including developing scopes of work, reviewing contractor work plans, evaluating scope options, supporting project cost estimates, attending pre-construction interviews, supervising tasks, participating in meetings, documenting progress, updating schedules, conducting safety walks, and preparing final reports. Reviewing contractor submittals such as RFI, contract clarifications, change requests, and compliance documents. Supporting site investigations to identify existing building conditions and hazardous materials for remediation and demolition. Serving as a Field Safety Officer by preparing safety plans, monitoring safety procedures, conducting safety briefings, and maintaining safety records. Planning and scheduling on-site staff, evaluating subcontractor performance, and assisting with change order negotiations. Communicating with the field team and project manager to ensure project conformance and proper contract execution. Supporting project management activities, including client meetings, proposals, and business development. Conducting safety observations, coordinating incident investigations, and maintaining safety records. Completing required training, including OSHA HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, and other safety modules. Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil, structural) or occupational health, safety, or industrial hygiene, or 8+ years related experience. Strong initiative, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage priorities and work in ambiguous environments. Willingness to travel extensively, including international rotations. Experience in heavy construction, demolition, or remediation, with a strong safety commitment.
