Full-Time | On-site Position Overview: We are seeking a

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of welded assemblies through in-process inspections and detailed reporting. This is a hands-on position focused on shop-floor presence, documentation, and collaboration with production and quality teams. Core Responsibilities Include: Perform in-process and final weld inspections in accordance with applicable codes and specifications

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications

Develop detailed weld maps using internal layouts and customer-supplied drawings

Generate comprehensive weld inspection reports including: Itemized weld joints and seams

Material and filler certifications

Welder certifications and activity reports

WPS and PQR documentation

Inspection dates and third-party test reports

Stud test reports

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, including AWS and ASME standards

Maintain detailed, accurate records in support of internal audits and customer traceability requirements

Preferred Experience and Skills: CWI Certification (AWS QC1 required)

Experience with ASME BPVC or B31.3 welding inspection a plus

Familiarity with relevant codes: AWS D1.1, D1.6, B2.1, A2.4

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat

Basic AutoCAD experience a plus

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently on the shop floor

Note:

While CWE certification is respected, this role does not require a welding engineer and may not be the best fit for someone seeking engineering-level responsibilities. Physical and Mental Requirements Physical Requirement:

Balancing; climbing; bending; stooping; crawling; some light, moderate, heavy lifting and carrying; must have fine motor skills; be able to grasp small items; kneeling; pushing; reaching above shoulder; pulling hand over hand; ability to do a repetitive motion; and the ability to sit, stand and walk for most of the day. Mobility requirement enough to move around the production area safely and various types of customer locations Visual Requirement:

Must be able to visually read documents, read from a computer screen, see system details Hearing Requirement:

Must be able to hear and speak on the phone and in person to convey information. Must be able to identify hazard sounds and be aware of the environment on the production floor/customer sites for safety Mental Requirement:
