About Us: Established fabrication and manufacturing facility located in Florence, SC. We manufacture specialized equipment and support structures that ship throughout North America, and we are recognized as leaders in our field. Position Summary: We are currently interviewing for a Quality Control / Weld Inspector to join our team. This is a full-time, salaried role reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The ideal candidate will be a current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who is well organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. This position is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced professional looking for a more focused, less fast-paced environment. This position supports a managed-pace production environment focused on long lead-time, high-quality structural and proprietary equipment projects. Primary Responsibilities: Perform material audits, verify fit-up measurements, and conduct visual weld inspections using detailed fabrication drawings. Qualify welders in-house using on-site testing equipment. Maintain accurate QC documentation, including weld inspection records. Collaborate effectively with customer QC representatives and third-party inspectors when required. Ensure compliance with established quality control procedures and applicable AWS welding codes. Qualifications & Requirements: Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – required 5–10 years of experience in structural steel or similar metal fabrication environments Familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D1.3 welding codes Ability to interpret structural fabrication drawings and welding specifications Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external clients Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel; AutoCAD experience is a plus Electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems knowledge is desirable Safety-focused, dependable, and professional demeanor Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; minimal travel required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85, $100,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
