As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle import process for ocean shipments. From coordinating with overseas agents to ensuring timely customs clearance and final delivery, youll play a critical role in ensuring our clients cargo arrives safely, on time, and in compliance with all regulations. Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery
Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies
Prepare and review documentation (e.g., ISF filings, arrival notices, customs entries)
Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely movement and delivery
Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and resolving issues
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company SOPs
Accurately enter and maintain data in the internal TMS
Proactively address delays, discrepancies, or exceptions
Requirements
2+ years experience in ocean import operations (freight forwarding or NVOCC)
Strong knowledge of international shipping and customs processes
Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment
Knowledge of Cargowise, Descartes, or similar systems is a plus
