Position Summary

Habco Industries is a key provider of tools, ground, and test support equipment that has served the Aerospace Industry for over 50 years; both fixed and rotary winged aircraft and across commercial and military applications.

In addition to its extremely fast-paced environment, Habco has a complex business model with 3,000 - 5,000 items shipping annually across multiple value streams - each with its own make / buy decision.

The Shipping and Receiving Lead will be responsible for planning, organizing and monitoring the receipt and delivery of raw materials, finished goods, equipment and supplies.

Responsible for loading and unloading freight (incoming or outgoing) through the use of standard material handling equipment (fork truck, folk lifts and pallet jacks).

Verifies quantity/quality of all shipments received and sent against purchase orders and completes a thorough examination of materials to ensure quality.

Ensures receiving reports accurately report material received and resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.

Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.

Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.

Prepares items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier, to include the building and/or procurement of shipping crates.

Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.

Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Responsible for coordinating all freight related items and costs for shipments leaving the facility; consistently focuses on identifying cost saving opportunities as it relates to carriers and shipping services.

Ensures accurate record keeping systems and mark materials with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc.

Drives company vehicles (van and box truck) as may be required.

Provides back-up in the Materials department as may be required related to pre-pull of items for production or return of items to inventory.

Minimum Qualifications

Other duties as may be assigned or required.

3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, materials and inventory control in a manufacturing environment

Experience operating material handling equipment; fork lifts, pallet jacks

Experience handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies

Knowledge of shipping carriers, processes and systems

Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Computer proficiency to include accessing information on a computer; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness

Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout an 8 hour shift

Ability to work in an environment with changing temperatures

Valid and clean driving record with the ability to drive company vehicles to deliver products / items to key clients as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical experience and willingness to cross-train and work within other disciplines.

Knowledge of bar code technology and electronic data interchange.

Willingness to be trained on the operation of power and/or hand tools

Lean manufacturing experience.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to bend, stoop lift and move objects weighing 50+ pounds

Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout an 8 hour shift

Ability to work in an environment with changing temperatures

Valid and clean driving record with the ability to drive company vehicles to deliver products / it ms to key clients as required

Experience using Epicor (ERP System)

Familiarity/experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques (i.e. RCCA, Six Sigma methodology), a plus

Working knowledge of ISO-9001, AS9100
