Job Overview
The Director of Faculty Support Services manages a team of administrative support professionals across the Law Center. These individuals serve to provide a wide range of efficient and comprehensive support to the Law Center Faculty and the Legal Practice Program.
They work closely with faculty to determine their academic and administrative needs and oversees support assignments to ensure an equitable distribution of work; and uphold compliance standards and build relevant policies and procedures that liaise with several departments throughout the Law Center to ensure adequate measures are set in place for support facilitation.
The Director employs their substantial training and development responsibilities in oversight of the the design and implementation of campus-wide service enhancements, and in making strategic staffing recommendations for the Department of Faculty Support
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Director reports directly to the Associate Dean for Research and Academic Programs. and interacts with all members of the Law Center community, and meets regularly with Law Center faculty. They maintain productive working relationships with administrators and Staff throughout the campus, and ensure that the department is fully responsive to faculty needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required - Master's preferred
- 5 years of administrative and/or customer service experience
- Proven management experience
- Strong project management, communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, spreadsheets, and instructional technologies - e.g., Canvas, and cloud storage solutions
- Experience in a legal field or higher education preferred
