Position Summary
Our client is seeking a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team. The CFO will be a key partner to the CEO, shaping financial strategy, driving operational efficiency, and building scalable systems to support rapid growth. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-moving, sometimes unpredictable environment, and who can balance strategic vision with willingness to “jump in” when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on company growth strategy.
- Build financial plans and forecasts that reflect the complexities of a weather-dependent industry.
- Provide clear, data-driven insights to guide decisions across departments.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and capital strategy.
- Manage banking relationships, capital structure, and funding initiatives.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track financial and operational performance.
Systems & Operational Efficiency
- Transform finance operations by introducing scalable systems, structure, and processes (including Sage Intacct implementation).
- Identify areas for margin improvement and cost optimization.
Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee accounting, audit, tax, and compliance functions.
- Ensure accurate GAAP reporting and strengthen internal controls.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA strongly preferred).
- 10+ years progressive financial leadership, with 3+ years as CFO or equivalent.
- Prior private equity experience, including successful growth outcomes, strongly preferred.
- Industry experience in construction, contracting, or other field services a plus.
- Proven ability to scale financial infrastructure and manage through complexity.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
