Position Summary:
The Bar & Assistant Manager is a dual-role leadership position responsible for overseeing bar operations while also supporting the General Manager in daily venue management. This role ensures exceptional guest service, strong team performance, efficient bar operations, and compliance with all operational and safety standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality. Key Responsibilities:
Bar Management Oversee all aspects of bar operations including staffing, inventory, and service standards.
Maintain wine, beer, and liquor stock levels; manage orders, deliveries, and inventory rotation.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and presentation of wine and beverages.
Train bartenders and barbacks on mixology, wine knowledge, service etiquette, and upselling.
Develop drink menus, seasonal features, and promotions with management.
Monitor bar cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.
Assistant Manager Duties Support the General Manager in supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
Assist with scheduling, payroll management, and labor cost control.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution with professionalism.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and responsible alcohol service policies.
Support financial goals by monitoring sales, costs, and overall profitability.
Assist in planning and executing special events, wine tastings, and promotions.
Leadership & Team Development Lead by example, fostering a positive and professional team culture.
Conduct ongoing training for staff to ensure service consistency and growth.
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to improve performance.
Promote teamwork between bar staff, servers, and management.
Qualifications & Skills:
3+ years of bar management or management experience in hospitality.
Strong knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and beverage trends.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Certification in responsible alcohol service (TIPS, ServSafe, or equivalent) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. (wine cases, kegs, supplies).
Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
