Job Description Description: The Business Development Officer will play a key role in expanding our customer base, developing new business relationships, and driving revenue growth. Responsible for identifying new markets, generating leads, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development within the logistics or transportation industry, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building lasting customer relationships.
Job Responsibilities: Create opportunities on additional freight and consulting businesses. Manage clients onboarding process. Participate in marketing and business development initiatives. Support in all initiatives in the global supply chain management opportunity specific to driving revenue to Import & Export. Freight, Customs Brokerage, Domestic Freight, & Consulting. Work on leads developed by the consulting and training division. Produce independent opportunities as circumstances warrant. Support Sparx management team in any area your expertise and experience can be of value. Create relationships with carriers and related transportation providers to the benefit of SPARX Logistics. Create opportunities to drive GP enhancement throughout the organization. Drive the Technology Product. Support Managing Director in all initiatives in business development, sales management training and in finding new prospective talent in all stations and for all SPARX products. Support in developing marketing plans and strategic development of industry verticals. Support, create and manage solutions for better RFP/RFQ results. Work with Managing Director in becoming a public speaker and “face” for the company in all public opportunities that further our brand and create business development opportunity. Whenever possible transition existing book of freight business into Sparx Logistics. Requirements: Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation industry. Proven ability to bring over an existing book of freight business and generate new revenue through strategic sales efforts. Strong knowledge of global supply chain services including import/export freight, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and consulting. Experience with client onboarding, RFQ/RFP processes, and supporting cross-functional operations. Established network of carrier and transportation provider relationships. Comfortable working with logistics technology platforms and promoting tech-based solutions. Confident communicator with experience representing a company in public or client-facing settings. Ability to work independently while collaborating across sales, operations, and executive teams to drive growth.
