- Oversight of outsourced Tax Functions including internal and external auditors. Review/evaluate performance of the vendors and evaluate control environment.
- Product lifecycle engagement for launches, liquidations, mergers, and other structural events.
- Support Fund Controllers, Portfolio Managers, and other internal teams with Tax related complexities. Build good relationships with business areas within Goldman Sachs to support effective cross-functional initiatives.
- Analyze complex ideas/proposals and build meaningful recommendations. Effectively communicate these recommendations to Senior stakeholders.
- Contribute towards and prepare presentations to Goldman Sachs governance bodies (i.e., Board of Trustees)
- 3-5 years of tax compliance work experience in asset management entities with a focus on Form 1065 and Schedule K-1
- Accountability and ownership of key functions and special projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, act assertively and with tact on complex issues. Ability to manage change and ambiguity.
- Vendor management experience.
- Solid prioritization skills. Ability to handle competing priorities.

- Strong work ethic, Initiative, drive, and passion
- Big 4 Experience
- MBA in Accounting or Finance
- MS in Taxation
- CPA Certification
- Knowledge on taxation of Hedge Funds, Private Equity Funds, 1940 Act Funds, and REITs.
This position is for a role in the Tax Division working on Funds from the Asset Management division. Candidates will work closely with tax team members including other support groups such as legal, compliance, operations, and controllers. The primary focus will be on US funds but will encompass tax-related concepts and issues with Offshore Funds as well.
