Direct Counsel is working with a top-tier international law firm to place a midlevel associate with 3–5 years of experience into its Investment Management practice in Boston. The ideal candidate will have prior large law firm experience and a strong background in private investment fund work. The successful candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Forming private investment funds, including hedge funds, venture capital funds, and private equity funds
Structuring and drafting documentation for upper-tier management entities and bonus or carry plans
Advising on secondary transactions, including GP-led restructurings
Assisting institutional investors with private fund investments and co-investments
Familiarity with private fund structures, as well as the laws and regulations governing private funds and their managers, is essential. Requirements: 3–5 years of investment management experience at a large law firm
Deep knowledge of private funds and relevant regulatory frameworks
Active membership in the Massachusetts Bar
