Job Description Summary
As a
Lead Teacher
in a child care center, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Your role includes planning and implementing curriculum, fostering social and cognitive development, and ensuring a nurturing atmosphere. You will lead classroom activities, assess children's progress, and collaborate with parents and staff to support each child's individual needs. Additionally, you will supervise assistant teachers, maintain a positive and organized classroom, and uphold licensing and safety regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and a passion for early childhood education are key to success in this role.
Duties
Classroom Management Instruction
Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes learning and development. Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. Facilitate activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Guide and encourage positive behavior while maintaining classroom discipline. Child Development Care
Observe, assess, and document children's progress and developmental milestones. Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Provide a secure environment that promotes self-confidence and independence. Collaboration Communication
Partner with parents through regular communication, conferences, and updates. Work closely with assistant teachers and staff to maintain a positive team environment. Communicate effectively with management regarding classroom needs and concerns. Safety Compliance
Ensure all health, safety, and licensing standards are met. Maintain a clean and organized classroom. Follow emergency procedures and center policies. Supervision Leadership
Train, mentor, and oversee assistant teachers and classroom staff. Model best practices in early childhood education. Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children and families.
