This is an 8-hour night shift position with a schedule from 8 PM to 4:30 AM. The role is a contract position for a duration of 16 weeks and offers guaranteed 40 hours weekly. Key Responsibilities: - Receive and accession specimens from surgical procedures.- Collect blocks from Pathologist Assistants and process tissue samples.- Perform embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue slides for examination.- Conduct procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards in the pathology lab.- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of specimens and accurate results. Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pathology laboratory setting.- ASCP certification (HT or HLT) is required.- Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.- Proficient in various histology techniques, including IHC (Immunohistochemistry), cytology, and tissue processing. Holiday Expectations: - Must work 2 major holidays out of 3: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.- Additionally, must work 1 minor holiday: Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
