Role Overview

Manifest IT is building a Change Observability Platform that unifies time-series data, graph intelligence, and GenAI copilots to help organizations trace, analyze, and remediate changes.

We are looking for an AI/ML Lead (Applied AI Engineering Manager) to manage and mentor a team of ML Engineers and GenAI Programmers, driving the design and deployment of applied AI/ML features at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and expand a team of ML Engineers and GenAI Programmers.
  • Roadmap Execution: Define and deliver the AI/ML strategy aligned with platform milestones.
  • Technical Guidance:
  • Direct ML Engineers in building scalable pipelines for anomaly detection, correlation, and attribution.
  • Guide GenAI Programmers in creating copilots, agentic workflows, and NL-to-Graph query translation.
  • MLOps Ownership: Oversee the end-to-end ML lifecycle — model development, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure ML/AI solutions meet standards for latency, scalability, accuracy, and governance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering leadership to prioritize features and align execution with platform goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–12 years in ML/AI engineering, with 3+ years in leadership or management roles.
  • Strong track record in production ML systems (time-series anomaly detection, causal inference, graph ML).
  • Hands-on programming in Python, Go, or Java.
  • Expertise in LLM/GenAI integration (RAG, embeddings, LangChain/LangGraph, MCP workflows).
  • Experience with graph databases (Neo4j) and time-series platforms.
  • Proficiency in MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication, architecture design, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience building AI/ML features for large-scale SaaS or observability platforms.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance-driven AI development.
  • Startup or early-stage product-building experience.

Logistics

  • Location: San Francisco, Hybrid — we expect team members to be in-office ~50% of the time (some roles may require more).
