Job Description Description: The Loan Title Clerk is responsible for managing all aspects of the title process for consumer and commercial loans. This includes ensuring timely and accurate lien perfection, coordinating with members, dealerships, financial institutions, and state agencies, and maintaining up-to-date records of title documentation. The Title Clerk plays a critical role in protecting the credit union’s interest in collateral by verifying that proper titling has been completed and that liens are perfected in accordance with regulatory and internal guidelines. Requirements:

Prepare and submit title applications for consumer and commercial collateral, including motor vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats, and mobile homes. Ensure lien perfection by submitting required documentation to appropriate state agencies or third-party processors. Follow up on outstanding titles and lien filings to ensure completion within required timeframes. Communicate with dealerships, members, and third parties to resolve title discrepancies or delays. Review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submitting title paperwork. Maintain accurate records and tracking of all title-related transactions and lien releases. Process lien releases and provide necessary documentation upon loan payoff or refinancing. Stay current on state-specific titling regulations and update internal procedures as needed. Respond to internal and external inquiries related to titles, liens, and registration processes. Support the loan servicing team with title-related tasks, including assistance with audits or documentation requests. Identify opportunities to streamline title processing workflows and suggest improvements.

Experience: 1-4 years in loan or financial services, or customer service clerical settings preferred. Education: A high school education or equivalent.
