We’re growing and looking for engineers at all levels in Embedded Systems, Power Electronics, and Systems Engineering to help design cutting-edge technologies used in medical, semiconductor, scientific, and industrial applications worldwide.

There are hardware engineers and software engineers, and then there are Power Electronics Engineers who speak the language of machines and understand the physics of electrons in semi-conductive materials, capable of bringing an idea to life- from human thought, to digital blueprint, and ultimately, into physical reality. You are our kind of Power Electronics engineer if you are:
energized to solve power delivery challenges and evolve technology to meet tomorrow's needs curious and insightful, you comprehend the interconnected facets of a system and can provide solutions that account for multiple dimensions dialed into established standards, and interested in evolving technical standards organized and methodical, you can handle complexity with precision you are inherently driven to get things done, and know how to make the right connections with people, processes, and priorities to make it happen you have deep knowledge in power electronics design and simulation, as well as digital control
What You Will Do:
As a Power Electronics Engineer at Spellman, you will be central to our mission of powering progress for a better future. You will design power supplies that can create and control high voltage electricity using cutting-edge technology, and in some cases, developing new technology to do so. Every day will bring a new challenge, but in general you can expect to:
Design and develop high-voltage power supplies and related systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to meet technical requirements. Research and implement new techniques to improve performance and reliability. Document designs for manufacturing and future modifications. Test designs using advanced simulation tools. Balance cost, schedule, and manufacturing requirements.
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience in power electronics design and development. Strong understanding of power conversion principles and converter topologies (buck, boost, flyback, etc.). Proficiency with design and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, LTSpice, SPICE, Altium, etc.). Familiarity with schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications :
- High Voltage design (100kV+). - X-Ray generator experience. - Knowledge of encapsulation/insulation design. - Experience with regulatory standards (UL, ISO 9001, CE, etc.).
Our good faith estimate for this role is a salary range of $85,000 – $170,000, depending on education and years of experience. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. Relocation assistance is available.
