Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Operations Support Specialist to provide frontline support for enterprise network infrastructure. This role is essential to maintaining uptime, resolving issues, and supporting network builds and refreshes in alignment with established standards.
As a Network Operations Support Specialist, you will troubleshoot network issues, escalate to senior engineers when necessary, and participate in implementations and documentation efforts. You'll also be encouraged to grow your technical skills through mentoring and hands-on experience with advanced networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-line support for network issues, escalating to Network Engineers as needed. Troubleshoot routing protocols, DHCP servers, desk drops, and connectivity issues. Support campus networks including Cisco Catalyst switches and wireless controllers. Patch and maintain network infrastructure hardware and software. Build small networks using standardized templates (Layer 2/3 collapsed core with IDFs). Participate in standards enforcement and technical debt elimination initiatives. Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain and create detailed documentation including network diagrams and process guides. Participate in off-hours implementations and a rotating on-call schedule. Monitor network performance and apply updates, patches, and firmware upgrades. Implement and manage network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS. Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and support. Ensure compliance with network policies, regulations, and best practices. Key Requirements 3-4 years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure. Computer-related degree or equivalent experience. Proven CCNA-level knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience. Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) and workflow management. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends and on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications Cisco professional certifications (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE) or equivalent experience. Experience with Cisco ISE, CUCM, and SD-WAN support. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and virtualization technologies. Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet). Proficiency with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Cisco DNAC, Ekahau). Hands-on experience with packet analysis tools (Wireshark, NetFlow, IP SLA). Experience with Meraki and Fortinet wireless support. Knowledge of low-voltage cabling, patching, and punch-down techniques. Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF). Ready to Make an Impact?
