The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience, possessing the critical skills required to work with neonates and infants. Key Responsibilities: - Provide exceptional nursing care to neonates, specifically those born at 23-24 weeks gestation.- Utilize advanced medical equipment including CPAP, BiPap, High-Frequency Vents, Oscillators, and traditional ventilators.- Administer blood and blood products, perform cardioversion/defibrillation, and manage cooling and warming blankets.- Assist in high-risk deliveries and attend neonatal surgeries.- Float to Peds (Pediatrics) or Special Care Nursery (SCN) when required, caring only for infants.- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Minimum Qualifications: - Active Compact nursing license or valid state nursing license.- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.- NR (Neonatal Resuscitation) Certification is desirable.- At least 2 years of charge nurse experience preferred.- Familiarity with the Epic charting system is a plus. Unit Details: - The NICU comprises 77 beds with an average census of 50 patients.- The facility typically does not float travelers to Peds; however, some floating may occur as needed for unit coverage.- Staffing ratios: 2 patients per nurse during days and nights, with a possibility for weekend shifts. Additional Information: - A dedicated Admit Nurse is present; therefore, travelers will not typically be responsible for admitting new patients.- Orientation hours: 24 hours.- Block scheduling is available; traveling nurses can work 3 or more shifts consecutively if preferred.At ARMStaffing, we take care of our nurses!
