The unit has 12 beds and operates 24/7. There are 2 RNs and 1 paramedic on staff during the night shift. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. All mandatory emergency room equipment is utilized. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. Candidates should be flexible, motivated, team-oriented, patient-focused, and adaptable. Typical procedures performed include intake, triage, airway management, wound care, critical care management, and orthopedic injury management. This role requires floating between the main emergency room and the free-standing emergency room. Shifts may vary when working at the main campus. The hospital has a supportive culture between nursing and other providers. A therapy dog and a wellness lounge are available on-site. There is strong leadership support within the Emergency Department.
