Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary aerodynamics point of contact for flight test activities
- Develop tools for analyzing and processing flight test data
- Collaborate with flight test teams to plan and execute test events for aerodynamic model validation and vehicle performance assessment
- Analyze flight test data to support analysis objectives and requirements verification
- Compare processed data with predictions and generate comprehensive test reports
- Utilize experimental data to refine and improve aerodynamic models
- Support the verification of aircraft-level requirements through flight test results
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Relevant experience with fixed-wing, rotorcraft, tiltrotor, flight testing (4+ years with BS, 3+ with MS, or 1+ with PhD)
- Deep understanding of aerodynamics, performance, stability, and control for fixed-wing and rotorcraft
- Experience with flight test planning, instrumentation, execution, and data reduction
- Skilled in vehicle aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing
- Proficiency in Python (strongly preferred) or Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with statistical data analysis
- Excellent planning, communication, and teamwork skills
- Adaptable to fast-paced design environments
- Wind tunnel testing and rotorcraft data processing
- Gradient-based and surrogate modeling techniques
- Familiarity with aircraft performance charts, FAA certification processes (Parts 23/25/27/29), and regulatory agencies
- Software development and version control best practices (Git, CICD)
- Experience with Curtiss Wright IADS, ASTM standards, and ADS-33 for rotorcraft
