Save Job

We’re currently partnered with a cutting-edge electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) organization, developing a new aircraft on their search for a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer to help bring revolutionary aerial mobility solutions to market.

With their next-generation aircraft set for release and scalable production in 2025, they’re looking for an aerodynamicist who can push the limits of performance, efficiency, and safety.

About the Role

This is a high-impact position where you’ll lead aerodynamic design and analysis for advanced eVTOL aircraft platforms. You’ll own computational fluid dynamics (CFD) efforts, guide design decisions across the program, and mentor junior engineers. You’ll also play a key role in defining processes, supporting testing, and ensuring the aerodynamic integrity of aircraft systems from concept through flight.

What You’ll Be Doing

 • Lead aerodynamic design, CFD analysis, and performance evaluation for eVTOL platforms.
 • Develop and refine CFD processes for accurate aerodynamic simulation and prediction.
 • Own CFD deliverables for both current and future aircraft programs.
 • Support design integration, ensuring aerodynamic performance aligns with overall system requirements.
 • Participate in flight testing and translate results into actionable design improvements.
 • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize vehicle aerodynamics.
 • Mentor junior engineers and foster technical growth within the aeromechanical team.

What You Bring

 • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
 • 5+ years in mechanical design and development within aerospace or aviation.
 • 3+ years specifically in aerodynamics for complex aerospace systems.
 • Strong proficiency with CFD modeling and simulation tools (STAR-CCM, ANSYS, or equivalent).
 • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, surfacing, and CAD data management (CATIA V5/V6 preferred).

The Ideal Candidate

 • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
 • Experience with eVTOL or electric aircraft programs.
 • Familiarity with Dassault SIMULIA FMK software.
 • Hands-on experience with low-fidelity aerodynamic tools (XFLR5, OpenVSP, etc.).
 • Knowledge of rotor dynamics and propeller design.
