Sr Process Engineering Manager – Metal Deposition Job Purpose:

The PCB industry is experiencing a renaissance focusing on Interconnect Technology and Miniaturization, with layers exceeding 70 and features below 1 mil (25.4 microns). Sanmina's PCB division is at the forefront, offering opportunities for engineers in chemical engineering, material science, physics, and mechanical engineering. The Sr Process Engineering Manager will oversee wet chemistry process lines, including electroplating, electroless deposition, and wet etching.

Responsibilities:

Manage all wet chemistry process lines in San Jose: electroplating, electroless deposition, wet etching.

Lead and mentor process engineers in wet chemistry processing.

Develop and monitor SPC/KPI’s to improve processes; lead continuous improvement projects.

Collaborate with equipment engineering to develop maintenance checklists and qualification requirements.

Understand fabrication capabilities, source new tools, and develop processes to enhance PCB manufacturing.

Ensure clear work instructions and operator-friendly processes.

Collaborate to investigate defects and develop solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Materials Science Engineering.

Minimum 10 years experience in electrochemical processing.

Experience leading engineering teams.

Proficient with SPC and data analysis tools like JMP, Minitab, Excel.

Skilled in statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments.

Proven problem-solving skills using 8D and DMAIC methodologies.

Excellent communication skills.

Self-motivated and proactive in process improvement.

Salary Range: $127,000 - $161,000 annually. Compensation will be based on experience, education, and skills. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays and time off, and potential eligibility for stock awards and bonuses.
