UPSIDE is expanding and entering a new phase of scale-up. The selected candidate for the Automation Engineer position will help build and operate a unique facility at the forefront of the cultivated meat industry. The role involves supporting scale-up, implementing new technology, troubleshooting, and maintaining ongoing production at our EPIC facility. It will be highly cross-functional, working with scientists, supply chain, manufacturing, and other engineering teams. There will be opportunities to learn about new equipment and grow professionally. Responsibilities Include:

Troubleshooting upstream and downstream equipment operations. Providing automation support for 24x7 manufacturing operations. Creating and modifying PLC code to interface with I/O and control bioprocess equipment. Designing and implementing S88-based recipes to control plant equipment. Translating Pincharts into control modules, equipment modules, phases, and recipes. Modifying and interpreting low-voltage wiring diagrams. Specifying control systems for new equipment, integrating with existing networks, and configuring data collection. Commissioning and validating new hardware and software. Leading projects to implement control system changes. Supporting a dynamic operations team and building systems collaboratively. About You:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (chemical, electrical, mechanical, or computer science) with 7+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or industrial sectors. Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware/software: ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FT View, Batch. Proficient in modifying existing code and developing new PLC projects. Experience integrating multiple equipment pieces. Updating and creating HMI displays. Familiarity with OSIsoft/AVEVA PI System software. Knowledge of OPC, Modbus, BACnet protocols. Experience troubleshooting electrical control panels and low-voltage wiring. Managing Windows systems and basic networking. Experience with change control of industrial control systems. Enthusiastic about learning and working in fast-paced, complex environments. Comfortable working in manufacturing settings. Who You'll Work With:

An excellent Automation Team. Collaborating with multiple technical, regulatory (FDA, USDA), and manufacturing teams. Interacting primarily with R&D and Manufacturing Operations teams, among others. Compensation Range:

$140,000 - $165,000 (may vary based on experience and skills) UPSIDE Benefits:
