Job Description
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for managing all incoming clinical phone calls to the office and assisting with nurse visits. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Triaging and documenting all incoming clinical phone calls. Communicating information on behalf of physicians to patients as directed. Handling emergency appointment scheduling or forwarding to the appropriate staff. Returning patient phone calls in a timely manner. Documenting all communication regarding patient care in the patient chart. Completing disability/FMLA forms. Pharmacy and Prescriptions: Updating pharmacy directory information with the EHR Coordinator. Contacting pharmaceutical representatives for sample medications. Obtaining prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment. Managing new, renewal, and refill prescriptions via the EMR system, ensuring all prior disbursements are checked. Nurse Visits: Obtaining urine cultures as determined by the visit. Measuring vital signs. Preparing exam rooms and patients for procedures. Performing non-invasive procedures such as bladder scans, UA, uroflows, etc. Performing voiding trials and teaching self-catheterization when necessary. Administering injections including testosterone, Eligard/Lupron, and Firmagon. Performing procedures within the scope of an RN/MA as directed by physicians, especially when procedure room staff is unavailable. Instilling bladder treatments such as BCG and Valstar for bladder cancer. Changing SP tubes and catheters. Setting up, monitoring, and discontinuing IV infusions if certified. Maintaining sterile techniques and proper sterilization of equipment. Keeping exam rooms, laboratory stations, and restrooms clean and in compliance with OSHA standards. Reporting equipment malfunctions to the Clinical Coordinator. Job Type:
