Job Description Secret Clearance, US Citizenship, Background Investigation, and CAC are required for this position. This position is contingent on client approval.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) Shipboard C5I Cybersecurity Engineer will support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)’s Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cybersecurity, implementation of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) on marine and shipboard environments, specification development for acquisition contracts, and familiarity with U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, integration, and management of cybersecurity and DoD RMF efforts for shipboard or land-based systems and platforms.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity policies and infrastructure on Coast Guard vessels and systems.
Develop and evaluate technical reports related to application of C5I systems cybersecurity onboard USCG ships.
Review and evaluate the effect of electronics modifications on system security.
Review design specifications, test requirements, DFS, RFW, and ECs.
Review and advise on design review comments and decisions.
Coordinate verification and validation efforts for cybersecurity work.
Mentor junior engineers in shipboard networking design and analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Electronics Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 10 years in cybersecurity and RMF implementation.
At least 1 year of experience with U.S. Federal ship or boat building acquisition programs.
Required DoD IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+, GSEC, etc.).
Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Proficient with productivity software and strong communication skills.
