GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the SDS - Student Disability Svcs department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following. Under the general direction of the Associate Dean of Students - CARDS, plan and implement appropriate strategies related to student success for students with disabilities. Work with the Student Disability Resource Center to create awareness of disability concerns for Greenville Tech students. Work as a Resource Buddy by providing academic support to students with disabilities. This support includes, but not limited to, assistance with time management, understanding the college environment, and the development of study skills and test taking strategies. Assist students with tutoring as needed. Work as a test proctor on any GTC campuses depending on need. Provide support to students to ensure that they get their appropriate testing accommodations. Flexibility is required to help with proctoring of early and late testers. Assist the Associate Dean of Students - CARDS with the planning, setting up, advertising, and staffing of events/programs to promote the Student Disability Resource Center and the needs of students with disabilities. This includes college and community events/programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in student services programs and knowledge of working with disabilities in educational settings. Knowledge of college processes regarding eligibility for services and appropriate referrals. Knowledge of study skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
