Job Responsibilities

The Administrative Specialist for Health Sciences performs typing/word processing for the full-time and part-time faculty within 9 departments of the Health Sciences Division (Medical Assisting, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy Technician, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technician, Dental Assisting, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and the Dean of Health Sciences) responsible for producing finished documents (letters, tests, course syllabi, self-studies, etc.) from handwritten drafts; works with faculty to develop special projects and presentations through creative computer skills; works with the dean, department chairs, program directors and faculty to prioritize work assignments.

Initiates revisions, updates, and maintains divisional program handbooks, course syllabi, curriculum models, semester displays, self-studies, and coordinates HSD program advisory committee meetings.

Responsible for performing administrative support duties for the Health Sciences Division, develops/completes special projects/presentations as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences including but not limited to production/distribution of recruitment materials and coordination of program accreditation site visits.

Generates and maintains various reports/forms for the Health Sciences Division; including but not limited to divisional enrollment data, faculty workloads, and affiliation agreements.

Responsible for maintenance of office supplies/inventory, audits, and reconciliation of purchase card transactions, and initiates and maintains files for divisional purchase orders.

Compiles and submits pay agreements as needed for full-time and adjunct faculty within the Health Sciences Division.

Completes course data entry and maintains accurate room utilization during scheduling of courses each semester for the Health Sciences Division.

Provides excellent customer service and maintains a professional office environment to all visitors and students as well as all internal and external contacts. Minimum and Additional Requirements

High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree plus two years related work experience or high school diploma plus five years related work experience.
