Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager (ITM), the Information Technology Specialist (ITS) II leads a team of highly skilled software developers and business analysts supporting the Prescription Drugs Monitoring Program Systems Branch, including the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES).
The ITS II demonstrates expertise in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Business Technology Management. They perform a wide variety of tasks requiring innovative problem-solving, often with limited guidance. The ITS II optimizes and applies architectural solutions for organizational benefit and plays a key role in advising management or formulating IT strategy and policy.
This position requires in-depth expertise in system design, application development, and Service-Oriented Architectures. The ITS II manages custom code repositories for the CURES application and processes data submitted in standards such as those from the American Society for Automation in Pharmacy and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, ensuring optimal performance and security.
