Epic Web And Service Server Administrator

You belong at Union! Epic Web and Service Server Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Epic web and service infrastructure. This includes supporting Epic's web-based components such as Interconnect, Web BLOB, System Pulse, Service Desk, MyChart, and APIs. The role plays a critical part in ensuring uptime, performance, and security of services that support clinical and operational workflows across the enterprise. Essential Job Duties: Deploy and configure Epic web and service components (e.g., Interconnect, Web BLOB, System Pulse, Hyperspace Web, Service Desk). Configure load balancing, SSL certificates, firewall rules, and authentication (LDAP, SAML, etc.). Set up and maintain interfaces and API gateways for services like Care Everywhere, MyChart, and patient-facing portals. Monitor the health and performance of web and service-tier systems using Epic System Pulse or other monitoring tools. Perform regular updates, patching, and system optimizations in accordance with Epic release schedules and organizational policies. Manage backups and participate in disaster recovery testing. Respond to and resolve incidents related to Epic web services, including connectivity, performance, and integration issues. Coordinate with application analysts, network teams, and Epic TS/AT for problem resolution. Implement and manage SSL/TLS encryption, endpoint hardening, and service authentication. Ensure all systems comply with HIPAA, HITRUST, and internal security standards. Maintain detailed access logs and audit trails. Create scripts or automation tools for routine tasks such as deployment, health checks, and log rotation. Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, service accounts, certificates, and system dependencies. Document upgrade procedures and participate in change control reviews. May be required to work long hours during critical problems. On-call rotation required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience administering web servers and service applications in a healthcare or enterprise environment. Experience with Epic's web and service-tier components (e.g., Interconnect, Web BLOB, MyChart, Care Everywhere). Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration, IIS, SSL, and TCP/IP networking. Experience with service monitoring and logging tools. Epic certifications such as Interconnect Administrator, System Pulse, or Client Systems or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire. Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation. Experience with F5, Citrix NetScaler, or other load balancers. Experience with Vmware.
