POSITION PURPOSE The Senior Electromechanical Technician will support our manufacturing operations by reducing equipment downtime and ensuring reliable performance of automated systems. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and control systems including PLCs, servo drives, pneumatics, control valves, and robotic equipment. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with at least 10 years of plant maintenance experience, able to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues quickly and work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Troubleshooting & RepairRapidly diagnose and repair downtime issues across PLCs, servo drives, robotics, sensors, and control valves.Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and electromechanical systems (actuators, valves, regulators).Support robotic cells, conveyors, and automated lines, resolving integration and safety interlock issues.Calibrate and replace sensors, encoders, and feedback devices as needed.Preventive & Predictive MaintenanceExecute preventive maintenance (PMs) on automated production equipment.Support predictive maintenance initiatives (e.g., vibration, thermal, and electrical testing).Document repairs and maintenance activities in the CMMS to improve equipment history.Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementPartner with engineers and operations on root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures.Recommend and implement upgrades or improvements to reduce downtime and improve reliability.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.Participate in continuous improvement projects, leveraging Lean/TPM principles.Compliance & SafetyFollow and enforce OSHA/EHS standards during all maintenance activities.Ensure all lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures are followed.PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS Equipment Reliability & UptimePreventive & Predictive Maintenance ExecutionTroubleshooting & Technical SkillsSafety & ComplianceContinuous Improvement & ContributionQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:Associate Degree or Equivalent Industry ExperienceREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:Hands-on expertise in PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar - programming experience a plus but not required).Strong knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, robotics, and industrial controls.Working knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, and mechanical power transmission systems.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:10+ years in industrial maintenance preferred, with strong exposure to automation and electromechanical systems.Individuals with fewer years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate significant expertise in automation and electromechanical systems.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Flexibility to support multiple shifts and respond to urgent downtime events.Testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters)Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).Experience with robotics, motion control, automation, or machine vision systems.WORKING CONDITIONSNo hazardous work conditions.Position in office environment in a manufacturing plant.Field work is required for installation, testing, or troubleshooting equipment and control systems.SALARY RANGE$70,000 - $90,000 annually, plus bonusPDI is pleased to offer a comprehensive and affordable benefits program to our associates, which includes:Medical & prescription drug coverageDental / Vision plan401(k) savings plan with company matchBasic and supplemental life insuranceFlexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability benefitsHealth Advocacy Program / Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Many other voluntary benefit plans such as: Legal assistance, critical illness, hospital indemnity and accident coverage, discounted home/auto/rental insurance, employee discounts and pet insuranceAt PDI, we are also committed to helping our associates maintain a healthy and sustainable work/life balance and are proud to provide: Sick leave, generous vacation and holiday time, paid parental leave, summer hours, flex place/flex time options Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
