Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator provides professional-level support for the Human Resources Office by managing recruitment and onboarding, administering leave programs, maintaining compliance and personnel records, and supporting employees and supervisors. The Coordinator also assists with policy development, process improvement, and serves as office lead in the absence of the Executive Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding

Manage all job search processes within the NeoEd system, including posting announcements, applicant tracking, committee coordination, candidate communication, and required documentation. Verify credential documentation, references, and employment eligibility. Schedule interviews and serve as the primary contact for applicants and hiring committees. In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop, implement, and conduct new employee orientation sessions. Ensure onboarding materials and required employment documentation are completed and processed in compliance with NWSCC and ACCS requirements. Leave Program Management & Benefits Assistance

Serve as the primary point of contact for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration, including communications, forms, documentation tracking, and return-to-work coordination. Provide general information to employees regarding benefits, leave policies, and Sick Leave Bank enrollment. Assist with processing supporting documentation for leave of absences and other time-off requests. Records, Compliance & Reporting

Maintain accurate personnel files (physical and digital) in accordance with NWSCC and ACCS retention requirements. Track employee training and compliance requirements (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Ethics Training) and follow up with employees to ensure completion. Help maintain updated organizational charts and evaluation timelines. Compile reports and HR data for internal or external reporting as requested by the Executive Director. Supervision & Office Leadership

Provide day-to-day support for HR operations and serve as office lead in the absence of the Executive Director. Supervise and assign tasks to the HR work-study student or part-time staff; provide guidance and monitor completion. Support cross-training initiatives and provide backup to the Payroll Specialist as needed. Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency within the office. Assist the Executive Director in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and forms. Employee Support & Office Operations Serve as a point of contact for HR inquiries from employees, applicants, and the public. Prepare HR communications, employment forms, verification requests, and routine correspondence. Ensure accurate processing of personnel documentation and HR/Payroll system updates. Maintain organized office workflows and promote professionalism, confidentiality, and consistency in all HR transactions. Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from an accredited institution,

required . Minimum of three years of experience in human resources, employee relations, payroll, or related field,

required . Experience in higher education, preferred. Experience in Banner and/or NeoEd software, preferred. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements. Application Procedures/Additional Information

SALARY:

Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System's Salary Schedule E1-2 ($50,680 - $68,169).

Sick Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Annual Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earn annual leave per month. Personal Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns up to two (2) regularly scheduled workdays of personal leave per leave year. Unused Personal Leave converts to sick leave if not used. (converts to sick leave at the end of August each year if not used)

Professional Leave Up to 10 days a year of professional development leave with pay may be granted by the President.

Retirement The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Tuition Assistance This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
