Maintenance Technician II

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, responding to equipment downtime, and supporting engineering and facility projects. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates with 4-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting or at least 2 years of experience supported by a trade certification.
Key Responsibilities
Perform both scheduled and unplanned maintenance on production and facility equipment. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document tasks and track maintenance history. Ensure compliance with all company policies and OSHA safety standards; promote a culture of safety by practicing and enforcing Lockout/Tagout and other safety procedures. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to restore equipment to optimal condition. Support installation, relocation, and modification of machinery to meet production needs. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder logic for troubleshooting and system understanding. Execute electrical testing procedures on low-voltage systems to assess continuity, voltage, resistance, and current. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment consistent with housekeeping standards. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on preventative maintenance tasks and participating in small projects. Collaborate with other departments to resolve technical issues and enhance system reliability. If certified:
Build and wire control panels according to schematics and safety codes. Run new power supply lines and perform load calculations per applicable electrical regulations.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics. Familiarity with PLCs and industrial PC systems (e.g., Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat). Strong troubleshooting skills for AC/DC drives, motion controls, sensors, and relays. Understanding of single and three-phase systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Preferred Traits
Effective team player with a collaborative mindset. Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment systems. Education & Experience
4-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
OR 2+ years of experience with one of the following certifications:
309A - Electrician 433A - Industrial Mechanic
Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of electrical or hydraulic systems. Familiarity with CMMS software. Prior use of forklifts, scissor lifts, or similar industrial vehicles (certification preferred). Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate:
