Machine Repair Technician
As a Machine Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our manufacturing systems. Your responsibilities will involve comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of all production and non-production equipment within the facility. You'll work alongside a dedicated team that values safety and innovation, ensuring that all machinery is operating safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position offers a dynamic work environment where technical skills in electrical systems, mechanics, and preventative maintenance are crucial for success.
Salary:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Install all machine electrical systems and ensure proper function. Carry out preventative maintenance on all machines to avoid future breakdowns. Analyze and determine the root cause of machine failures and develop strategies to resolve them. Prioritize workplace safety and cleanliness, collaborating with other personnel to address hazards and organizational disruptions swiftly. Implement corrective actions approved for enhancing machine performance and verify their efficacy in preventing future issues. Maintain documentation related to machine repairs and modifications within work order and business management systems. Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. Ensure all production-related equipment is in a safe working condition to avert potential injuries or machinery damage. Handle the calibration of electronic control devices and perform calibration procedures as necessary. Supervise and enact the shutdown and lockout of any unsafe equipment until proper corrective measures are implemented. Manage and responsibly dispose of waste materials from repair and maintenance activities. Minimum Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Journeyman status or 7-10 years of experience in machine repair within a manufacturing setting. Proficient in handling PLCs, HMI systems, robotic controls, and various inspection systems. Skilled in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems along with mechanical repair. Ability to interpret and work from blueprints effectively. Accustomed to using computer systems and CMMS for work management and documentation. Strong communication abilities and decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced certifications in electrical or mechanical repairs. Experience in advanced fabrication and welding techniques. Proven track record of leading safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment. Skills:
Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery. Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
