Job Description Here’s a Glimpse of the Job Texas A&M University's Chemistry department is seeking a

Managing Director

to provide executive oversight and strategic planning and action for the NSF Center for the Mechanical Control of Chemistry (NSF-CMCC), directed out of the Department of Chemistry at TAMU. In this capacity, the Managing Director will help facilitate the research activities undertaken by multiple aligned programs across the partner institutions in the CMCC. They will aid in the review and allocation of resources, support activities for securing additional funding, and supervise CMCC staff, to ensure program strategies and activities align with the NSF-CMCC vision and mission. Opportunities to Contribute Provides strategic and operational oversight for the NSF-CMCC, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance with federal, university, and center policies.

Manages planning and resource allocation to support research initiatives, including financial, administrative, and staffing.

Serves as the center liaison and key spokesperson to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing the interests of the research program, including attending monthly Centers for Chemical Innovation Managing Directors meetings.

Collaborates with the Director of Outreach and Education to coordinate and support the center’s educational, outreach and innovation initiatives.

Assists in the development and auditing of program budget(s).

Coordinates research activities across CMCC partner institutions and supports instrumentation use and industrial partnerships through the Mechanochemistry Innovation Hub.

Disseminates achievements to NSF program directors, the scientific community, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ten years of related experience.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess: PhD in Chemistry or a related field, or MBA

Strong public speaking, organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.

Location:

Onsite (College Station), hybrid, or remote. Salary:
