Langan is seeking a

Geotechnical Project Engineer

to join our collaborative team in

Chicago, IL . This role involves providing geotechnical engineering expertise through analysis and design, supporting project management, supervising staff engineers, and interfacing with clients. You will have the opportunity to work on both small-scale and large-scale geotechnical projects. Job Responsibilities

Perform complex analyses, structural design of pile elements and underpinning systems, and conduct special engineering inspections; Prepare technical documents, manage proposals, reports, construction documents, and related correspondence; Supervise field investigations and oversee earthwork and foundation construction activities; Manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules, develop project plans, and prepare progress reports, change orders, invoices, and billings; Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred; Professional Engineer licensure; 6+ years of related Geotechnical experience; 3+ years of field experience with geotechnical investigations and construction observation, including mass grading, deep foundations, ground improvement, and excavation support; Experience in preparing technical reports, specifications, plans, and managing projects and clients; Knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements; Proficiency with quantitative analyses and related software; Strong communication skills and entrepreneurial mindset; Ability to develop new business opportunities and mentor staff; Excellent interpersonal skills and a valid driver’s license. The estimated salary range for this role is: $90,000 - $133,000, subject to factors such as experience, location, education, and credentials. Compensation may include overtime, bonuses, and paid time off, varying by local law and individual circumstances.
