Responsible for all fiscal management activities of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach Inc. and Catholic Charities Foundation of the Diocese of Palm Beach Inc. MUST HAVE NON-PROFIT GRANT FUNDING ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all financial activities of the agency and programs. Maintain internal controls according to GAAP and update the Financial Internal Control Manual. Assist leadership in budgeting, monitor monthly activity, and prepare financial reports. Present budgets and financial statements to the Board of Directors Finance Committee for approval. Complete federal grant management training and ensure compliance with all grant requirements. Prepare financial schedules for grant applications and participate in site visits and audits. Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and general ledger. Oversee Visa Card arrangements and automate check deposits. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate accounting staff. Review financial activities of Elder Affairs Guardianship Banking Accounts. Assist with land, operations, and building acquisitions; maintain property tax files. Manage and maintain accounting systems. Prepare for and coordinate annual audits and federal government audits, including 990 tax returns. Maintain accounting procedures manual and internal controls; support accreditation processes. Lead finance staff in budgeting and financial reporting for funding. Review bank reconciliations, checks, and general ledger entries for accuracy. Maintain rental contracts and oversee payroll and procurement activities. Review financial reports for the Board and program administrators. Handle personnel activities and conduct staff development and training. Support Catholic social teachings and participate in CQI teams. Problem Solving:
Anticipate and resolve problems using experience with minimal supervision. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting; MBA and CPA preferred. 3-5 years of accounting experience, especially in non-profit and fund accounting. Experience with grant applications and audits. Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office. Ability to work collaboratively, respect confidentiality, and support Catholic social teachings. Valid Florida driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
