Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Atlas Search Our client is a prestigious nonprofit located in Manhattan and they are operating in a hybrid schedule. The Director of Employee Relations leads the organization’s efforts to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant treatment of employees while promoting a positive culture. This role blends strategy with hands-on work, partnering with leadership to address challenges and strengthen engagement. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the lead advisor on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution. • Develop, update, and interpret policies to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organizational values. • Provide training and coaching for managers on performance management, workplace respect, and conflict resolution. • Monitor trends in employee relations, report insights to leadership, and recommend improvements. • Partner with HR, Legal, and DEI teams to advance culture and engagement initiatives. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; advanced degree or HR certification preferred. • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 in employee relations, ideally supporting a population of more than 1000 employees. • Proven ability to manage employee relations cases from investigation through final outcome, including preparing recommendations for disciplinary action (e.g., written warning or termination) based on facts and organizational policy. • Strong knowledge of employment law, investigation best practices, and nonprofit work environments. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. The annual base salary range is $100,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
