This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved medical school. Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S., U.S. Territory, or District of Columbia. Residency Training: Completion of an approved residency program leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency programs approved by ACGME, AOA, or equivalent non-U.S. programs with at least five years of verified practice in the U.S. For residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA programs, appointment as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) is possible, with specific licensing and scope of practice restrictions. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred: Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Board Certification. Experience: Completion of an accredited residency or at least one year of practice as an internal medicine or family medicine physician. Physical Requirements: Pre-employment physical, ability to lift 15-44 pounds, reach, use fingers and hands, walk and stand for several hours, and other physical capabilities detailed in the job description. Duties

The duties include examining and diagnosing patients, performing procedures, documenting treatments, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, promoting health education, and managerial responsibilities such as workload and staffing planning. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 0800-1630. Additional Benefits
