Scope of Responsibility

Join Cascade Engineering as a Senior Purchasing Specialist. This role is responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of materials and services to support company operations. The position involves analyzing requirements, obtaining and comparing supplier quotations, negotiating for best value, and placing purchase orders. It requires ongoing supplier performance tracking, problem-solving, and collaboration with internal teams to improve cost, quality, and delivery. The role also supports strategic sourcing initiatives, compliance with regulations, and participation in cross-functional improvement teams. Travel potential is approximately 10%.

Target Pay:

The target starting base salary for this position is $50,346.00 - $75,030.00 (plus quarterly bonus incentive). Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Cascade Engineering considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

What You'll Be Doing Performs diversified duties requiring sound judgement to analyze requirements, review quotations, and evaluate proposals Solicits and obtains quotations, making value-based comparisons Leads strategic and creative sourcing initiatives to improve competitive position in cost, lead-time and inventory management Track and addresses supplier performance issues, working directly with suppliers to drive improvements Coordinates with departments when substitutions or alternatives may be advantageous Secures samples and arranges for necessary testing Maintains accurate, detailed and organized records Interfaces effectively with all functional areas and at all levels within the company Participation in internal problem-solving and improvement initiatives, including VE/VA, RIE and APQP teams as needed Places purchase and blanket orders based on planning documents and follows up on delivery performance, conducting reviews when required Builds and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers and internal customers Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements Travel about 10% of time Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives Culture Bearer

Requirements

HSD or GED with 5 years of experience Demonstrates proficiency in core competencies Strong oral, written and listening communication skills Proven problem-solving, analytical, and detail-oriented Effective time management skills with ability to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines Knowledge of purchasing concepts Proficient in MS Office, including creating charts, graphs, spreadsheets and documents Accurate data entry skills with strong math aptitude Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and practices Proficient in Microsoft 365 Preferred

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or engineering Expertise with QAD and Excel Experience in MQ1 and electronic RFQ system preferred Understanding of accounting functions Benefits
