Job Title: Buyer, Technical Projects
Location: Miami, FL.
Employment Type: Contract
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our client's team in the marine industry sector. In this role, you will contribute to sourcing and procuring goods/services for technical marine projects, offering alternatives for cost savings, and ensuring timely delivery of goods/services.
Responsibilities Receive requisitions for goods/services and clarify needs with requestors. Source and negotiate specified requirements or seek alternatives to resolve issues. Make procurement decisions and recommendations based on price, availability, transportation, and delivery schedule. Liaise with personnel, suppliers, and logistics to ensure proper ordering and timely delivery. Monitor supplier performance to ensure consistent service and address deviations with management. Process emergency orders and obtain necessary approvals. Research and resolve issues including delivery failures and invoice disputes. Meet with customers regularly to provide status updates on open orders. May travel to visit ships, suppliers, or project sites for loadings, audits, etc. Requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. 3-5 years of procurement experience. Associate degree or equivalent required. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Who We Are
