Job Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for complex repairs and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and plumbing systems for the Health System in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, department policies, along with applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
ELECTRICAL Maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems and equipment. Installs electrical circuits of various voltages and phases in accordance with the National Electric Code and all other required codes and standards. Demonstrates knowledge of the electrical distribution system by repairing/replacing fixtures, switches, ballasts, bulbs, and other electrical components. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical circuits and equipment. Must be able to read and interpret electrical blueprints.
HVAC Ability to inspect, maintain, repair, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment throughout the Health System.
MECHANICAL Maintains, monitors, and performs minor repairs to facility mechanical systems, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, emergency generators, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems and the pneumatic tube system. Must be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
PLUMBING Demonstrates knowledge of facility plumbing systems, including distribution and valves, by fitting pipe, repairing/replacing fixtures and opening blocked drains.
GENERAL Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates the ability to complete general maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Five years of directly related experience preferred.
Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
Education • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Credentials • Drivers License (Required) • Electrician License-JourneymanCurrent West Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician License. Universal EPA Certification. (It is achieved by completing Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 categories.) • HVAC (Required) • Master PlumberCurrent West Virginia Journeyman or Master Plumbing License.
