ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a
Project Engineer
to join our team supporting the DOE's
Y-12 National Security Complex ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities Provide coordination for various projects across one but not limited to; commercial, infrastructure, production modernization, and/or production stockpile projects. Plan, design, and oversee the implementation of new machine tools and/or infrastructure upgrades. Provide technical integration, leadership, guidance, and direction to other multi-disciplined engineering teams as requested for high profile plant initiatives. Appropriately apply ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) requirements for work in nuclear facilities. Plan and direct the engineering activities on projects. Establish detailed project design scope, budgets, and schedules. Professionally coordinate engineering efforts with production, maintenance, project management, construction, startup, and project controls personnel. Requirements
Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and 10+ years of direct experience supporting the technical aspects and execution of projects. Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. Demonstrated experience with project plans, schedules, budget, tasks, troubleshooting, and ensuring project quality and safety standards are met. About the Site
The NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation's only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium. Y-12 supports efforts to reduce nuclear proliferation risk and performs work for other government agencies (energy.gov).
