Scope of job:

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment and facilities in a manufacturing environment.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Formal Education: High School or GED

Responsibilities: Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe and electrical systems in manufacturing establishment Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical failures: presses, equipment, plumbing, all vehicles Repairs tow motor, trucks, cranes, hoists Lays out and assembles new machines and equipment Inspects equipment, tools and machinery for safety issues Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools At times operates independently in assessing problems, implementing solutions, reporting only results to the Supervisor. Building Maintenance (toilets, light bulbs, sinks, ceiling tiles, some groundwork, etc.) Plumbing (soldering pipe, threading pipe) Assist in training employees Effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers on either shift Required Skills and Experience:

6 years or more practical experience following a formal or informal apprenticeship able to operate fully independently in planning and organizing work for maximum efficiency and safety when required Industrial electrical knowledge Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge (valves, pumps, cylinders) Welding and fabricating (MIG, TIG, Stick, brake, roller, and plasma cutter) Blueprint reading (building, weld, and some hydraulic and electrical) Experience working with motors (troubleshooting, aligning, and some wiring) Experience working with gearboxes (rebuilding, changing oil) Ability to perform lube daily route efficiently Experience with conveyer/belt repair (replace belts/drive belts, bearings, and tracking belts) Ability to use manual machines (bridgeports and lathes) Ability to read measurement tools (micrometers, calipers) Experience with overhead crane, boom lift, scissor lift Experience rigging and lifting Lockout/Tagout Ability to use hand tools Organizes job materials to improve workflow Assists line operators in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment Able to plan and organize work for maximum efficiency Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces Physical requirements:

Able to work at heights from 30 to 200 feet on ladders and platforms Extensive walking, standing, stooping and bending Lifting: heavy (50 lbs. without assistance); arm and back extension High level of manual dexterity
