Senior Research Scientist

We are seeking a scientist to support cancer drug discovery programs through in vitro target validation studies. The role involves working independently with molecular and cellular biology techniques, including genetic screens (CRISPR/shRNA), and applying knowledge of cancer biology. Experience with myeloid diseases (AML, MDS, MPN), oncogenic signaling pathways, and targeted therapies is a plus. The scientist will collaborate with their supervisor to design and execute experiments that answer key questions about target biology. What you will be doing: Quantify gene and protein expression in cell lines and patient samples Design reagents necessary for genetic screens and validation of knock-down Execute and interpret cell-based assays to evaluate the impact of target knockdown or inhibition Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, evaluate data, prepare reports and presentations for internal meetings in a timely manner Review the relevant scientific literature to build protocols using Pubmed and other resources Collaborate with other functional groups within drug discovery to achieve shared goals Acquire additional competencies and skillsets as needed Be highly independent and organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills You are: Master's degree with 2+ years experience or PhD with 0-2 years experience in Molecular/Cell Biology or related fields Strong in vitro skills including cancer cell-based experiments with CRISPR/shRNA, therapeutics, and tool compounds Proficient in molecular biology techniques, including Western Blotting, ddPCR, multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, HTRF, MSD, and CTG Experience in myeloid disease biology (AML, MDS, MPN) preferred Office based in Wilmington, DE What ICON can offer you: Our success depends on the quality of our people.
