IES Residential is looking for a Contracts Attorney who knows when to push back, when to push forward, and when to pull out the legal playbook.

What You'll Be ArguingI Mean, Doing
Contract Review & Negotiation
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements: subcontracts, vendor contracts, MSAs, leases, NDAs, and more. Master the art of the redline using Word and Acrobatno fluff, just strategic markups. Decode legalese into plain English for our operations team, project managers, and execs.
Legal Advisory & Risk Mitigation
Be our internal counselor for contract terms, insurance, indemnities, and risk. Help avoid disputesand when thats not possible, work with outside counsel to resolve them. Stay sharp on changes in the law that affect our agreements and educate others like a legal sensei.
Collaboration & Training
Team up with Legal, Risk, and Ops to build out our templates, clauses, and playbooks. Work with our Contracts Administrator to keep contracts organized and accessible. Host trainings that make legal fun. Yes, we said fun.
Process & Policy Enhancement
Help streamline workflows so we can scale efficiently. Bring fresh ideas to policy and process improvements in partnership with Legal.
Performs Other Related Duties As Assigned.

Education & Licensure
J.D. from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
Experience
2+ years practicing contract law Bonus points if youve worked in construction, homebuilding, or industrial sectors A solid grasp of indemnity, insurance, performance obligations, and warranty terms
Skills That Seal The Deal
A firm handshake, metaphorically speakingclear and confident communication Superb organization and attention to detail (yes, well notice if you leave off a semicolon) Ability to juggle multiple contracts without breaking a sweator a clause
