HDR
Duties: HDR's Geotechnical Engineer in the New York office will:
Perform fieldwork including: Meeting with clients on site and performing field reconnaissance; Conducting geotechnical soil borings, rock coring, cone penetration tests and test pit investigations; and Construction Monitoring;
Prepare geotechnical design of foundation elements for bridge structures, buildings, retaining walls, fill and cut embankments, and fender system, including:
Interpreting supplemental and historical soil boring logs and determining soil strata; Evaluation of soil engineering parameters; Soil stress analysis; Seismic Evaluation; Design of Shallow Foundation Elements; Design of Deep Foundation Elements; Slope Stability Analysis; Providing guidelines for ground improvement; Providing guidelines for construction considerations; Pre and post Construction condition survey; Providing guidelines for construction instrumentation and monitoring requirements; Drafting Boring Location Plan and General Subsurface Profile; Design services during construction including generating engineering responses for RFIs and reviewing submittals; and
Conduct Quality Control including review of geotechnical reports and fieldwork performed by others.
Requirements: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years' experience in geotechnical engineering
or
a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years' experience in geotechnical engineering.
Required experience must include experience in:
Geotechnical design; Geotechnical fieldwork; Local construction codes including New York City Building Code; Local Geology. AutoCAD; and MicroStation.
Accepting licensed and unlicensed candidates. Professional Engineering licensure is not a prerequisite for this position.

Rate of Pay: $88,150 minimum per year.
