SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the selection, training and performance management for all shift employees in the shipping, receiving and warehouse department. The incumbent directs shipping and receiving employees activities to ensure economic utilization of facilities, equipment, and staff, including efficient operation in the areas of picking (by code/kill dates), packing, loading, receiving and shipment of merchandise.
POSITION RESPONSBILITIES:
* Provide efficient operation and solutions to day-to-day activities such as employee management, receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, loading, and shipping of inbound and outbound shipments.
* Anticipates production problems and implement solutions.
* Communicates information to the appropriate people in an organized, concise, and timely manner.
* Enforces compliance with all company policies and procedures, safety rules and OSHA and USDA regulations.
* Prepares operations performance reports and daily inventory reports.
* Develops and recommends improvement in the current shipping and receiving department practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and improved customer satisfaction and lower cost.
* Studies the current and future needs of the shipping and receiving department operations as it related to the management of inbound and outbound of product.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of all shift shipping and receiving staff.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including OSHA and USDA requirements.
* Facilitate performance management of shift shipping and receiving staff and assist in determining training requirements to ensure safety and USDA compliance and career progression.
