A well-established aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking a
Senior Design Engineer
to lead the development of precision-engineered fluid control components used in mission-critical systems across commercial and defense applications. This is a highly technical role focused on
mechanical design, development, and testing
of engineered-to-order valves, actuators, and related systems. You'll work cross-functionally with program management, manufacturing, and quality teams to bring custom solutions from concept to production. Key Responsibilities:
Design complex
fluid control components
and assemblies using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) Perform detailed calculations,
tolerance stack-ups , and material selection. Support prototype builds, testing, and
design validation efforts. Work closely with manufacturing to ensure
design-for-manufacturability (DFM) Generate technical documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and engineering change orders. Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and
customer interface
as needed for technical clarification. Requirements: 5+ years
of mechanical design experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing Strong understanding of
valves, actuators, or fluid systems
(pneumatic/hydraulic/electromechanical) Proficiency with
SolidWorks
or similar 3D CAD platforms Experience with ASME Y14.5 and
GD&T
standards Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required Familiarity with
AS9100/ISO compliance , aerospace documentation, and configuration control is a plus. U.S. persons only (due to export regulations)
