Manufacturing Manager - Leadership in Production & Continuous Improvement Location:
Grand Rapids, MI
Overview: A growing manufacturer in the Grand Rapids area is seeking a
Manufacturing Manager
to lead day-to-day production and drive continuous improvement across plant operations. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a passion for team development and process excellence.
You’ll oversee production teams, support cross-functional initiatives, and help implement strategies that enhance safety, quality, and output. This role offers hands-on leader who enjoys building strong teams and solving real-world problems on the floor, and the chance to step into a highly visible, long-term leadership path.
What You’ll Do: Manage production operations across multiple departments or shifts
Lead, mentor, and coach supervisors and frontline staff
Implement lean manufacturing and process optimization initiatives
Ensure KPIs are met for safety, quality, and efficiency
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance to resolve bottlenecks and drive improvements
Support plant-level strategic planning and capacity scaling
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management processes
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
Background in production, operations, or industrial engineering
Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, safety standards, and KPI management
Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship Bonus: experience with ERP systems, ISO certifications, or capital equipment
